One of the beautiful things about Deadpool is just how nihilistic the eponymous hero - played, of course, byRyan Reynolds - is. It's a nice change from the usual glitz and glamour of Hollywood heroes, where everything is peachy and everyone is good-looking.
That's certainly not the case for Ryan Reynolds' character. Not only is he severely disfigured - the result of a mad scientist's miracle cure for cancer - but he drinks a lot and his life is generally always on the verge of going to shit. Not least because the love of his life is murdered right in front of him.
It's not surprising, then, that in Deadpool 2, Deadpool is pretty down on relationships. In fact, at one point in the movie, Deadpool actually tells your girlfriend - assuming the audience is you - to break up with you.
It seems that one girl took his message to heart a little bit too much, however, and actually did end things with her other half after seeing the film. As the unfortunate ex took to Twitter to tell the world, and specifically, Ryan Reynolds, who he mentioned in his tweet.
@VancityReynolds Deadpool 2 came out on my birthday and my girlfriend at the time saw it without me than broke up with me. I thought it would be the ultimate birthday gift but it turned out to be a disaster. :( I love you.

If we know anything, though, it's that Ryan Reynolds is a super lovely guy.
Well, we don't actually know that from first-hand experience, but
he comes across as a super nice dude on social media and in interviews and
things, so we're going to assume that he is. And he seems to be, because he
actually wrote back to the heartbroken guy:
There's a scene in the film where Deadpool tells your girlfriend to break up with you. I didn't think she'd take it seriously. I'm so sorry. Still friends? https://t.co/M6nGFipl3j

Which doesn't really help the guy much, but getting a compassionate reply from one of the biggest actors in the world at the moment must be a nice little ego boost.
He confirmed, too, that the pair are still friend. So that's good.
We bet all the girls will be flocking his way thanks to his new internet
friend. Or maybe not.
