Here's Why Cersei And Bronn Will Never Be In A 'Game Of Thrones' Scene Together

Ooooo... awkward!

Warning: SPOILER ALERT.

If you're still trying to avoid finding out what happened in season seven of Game of Thrones, why not read about the man who's spent the last 26 years hunting for the Loch Ness Monster, or the Rio Olympic Park's failed legacy, or some other interesting stuff instead? If you're not bothered about spoilers, however, read on...

In another intense season of Game of Thrones, Bronn and Cersei have starred in some of the show's most epic scenes.

Ser Bronn shot down a dragon in episode four of season seven, in what went down as one of the 'greatest ever' moments in the in show's six-year history.

And towards the end of what will be the penultimate series, watching Queen Cersei and the wight certainly made for some interesting viewing.

It's enough to make you ponder whether the ingredients are all there to create a wonderful on-screen partnership - hey, Bronn's been the right-hand man for both of Cersei's brothers.

And yet it has never happened.

They've come close, like in episode eight of the seventh series, when Bronn snuck off for a cheeky pint with Podrick just before Cersei arrived, but again they missed each other.

Well, it turns out there is good reason for it.

In real life, away from the dragons, wights and Kings Landing, Cersei (played by Lena Headley) and Bronn (Jerome Flynn) used to be an item - and things didn't really end well.

In fact, they ended terribly. They don't speak, they can't stand being in the same room together, and some have even suggested it's in their contracts that the two shall never meet.

In 2014, a source told the Daily Telegraph: "Jerome and Lena aren't on speaking terms any more and they are never in the same room at the same time.

"It's a pity because they appeared to have patched things up for a while, but now the word is that they should be kept apart at all costs."

It seems odd considering the amount of time Bronn spends with Jamie, and Jamie spends with Cersei. But at the same time, you have to credit the show's writers and producers for their ability to keep them apart for so long, and not leaving us to question either.

With it likely to be 12 months before we'll have another chance to see if Cersei and Bronn have had time to patch up their differences, the void left in our lives by the season finale can be filled with a 'behind the scenes' look at the latest series.

That, for now, can help keep us nourished while we wait for the last ever series, which should air in 2019.
