Ryan Reynolds Teases The Idea Of Deadpool And The Avengers Teaming Up

Just imagine!

The Marvel Universe has given us some brilliant movies over the years, with one of the most highly anticipated in the collection to be released next year, Deadpool 2.

They also gave us The Avengers which is now in its third phase - with a fourth also on the horizon.

The 2016 hit Deadpool is the ninth-highest grossing film ($783m) in the Marvel Comic collection - with The Avengers still listing as the highest ($1.5bn).

So, imagine if they came together?

That's the idea that has been floated by actor Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool's title character.

Speaking to Total Film, Reynolds spoke about the idea of his character potentially crossing paths with fellow Marvel superheroes.

"That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea," Reynolds said. "Can you imagine the shit-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh that would be great.

"But it would have to be R-rated to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go..."

The R-rating in America is the equivalent to the UK's 15 rating whereby any 'under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian'.

A merger may not be out of the question, despite The Avengers being made by Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Studios and Deadpool being made by Fox. The two separate entities recently came together for Spiderman: Homecoming.

That said, Reynolds previously trolled Marvel in an Instagram post.

Reynolds, in character costume of Wade Wilson, posted the picture of him chilling outside the X-Men mansion, in a seeming troll of Spiderman.

It would probably mean that if Deadpool ever teamed up with Spiderman, there'd be a little bit of apologising to be done first.

The second Deadpool film, the 12th in the X-men film series, has only had a few details released about it, but should be released in the US on June 1, 2018.

The next Marvel film, to be released later this year, will be Thor: Ragnorak with the premise of the film seeing it set four years after the events of Thor: The Dark World, when the title character was held captive on the planet Sakaar without his infamous hammer.

He now must win a gladiatorial duel against The Hulk in order to return to Asgard in time to stop the villainous Hela and the impending Ragnarok - the doom of the Asgardian civilisation.
