Poor Jennifer Lawrence, she never seems to have it easy. In The Hunger Games she was constantly battling torture through each of the three films.

In her latest film, Mother!, it doesn't look like it's going to be a smooth ride either.

Weirdly, we sort of suspected that when the original poster was released for the movie, directed by Darren Aronofsky, as Lawrence stands in a flower garden holding her own cut out heart.

It didn't give too many clues as to the storyline behind the film, but the trailer certainly combats that vagueness.

The film, starring Javier Bardem as Lawrence's romantic partner, is due for release on September 15.

Mother!, also written by Aronofsky, sees a couple 'whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence'.

It would appear that Mother! ventures into the psychological thriller category, as opposed to direct horror - similar to Black Swan - directed by the same man.

The thriller also features some other big names in the form of Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhall Gleeson, Kristen Wiig and Ed Harris.

Many, who have seen the trailer, were keen to praise what the saw.

"Javier Bardem and Michelle Pfeiffer are so good at playing creepy," one wrote.

"Most anticipated movie right now," another added.

A third wrote: "Holy shit. This looks so good I could cry."

However, others were quick to question the casting of Jennifer Lawrence in an older 30-something role. Some even described her as 'overrated'.

Lawrence is set for a few red carpet trips in the next few months with two films due for release in 2018.

She'll star in Red Sparrow and her third X-Men film, Dark Phoenix - having already played Raven Darkholme in X-Men: First Class, Days Of Future Past and Apocalypse.
