Matt LeBlanc Reveals Why A 'Friends' Reunion Will Never Happen

The rumour mill was running wild with speculation that a Friends movie could be on the cards after a cleverly edited spoof trailer was shared online and quickly went viral.

However, former star of the show Matt LeBlanc has squashed any hope fans may have had for a possible reunion, stating in a radio interview that it he thinks it is better to 'just leave it'.

The Top Gear host, who rose to fame playing Joey Tribbiani on the NBC sitcom, indicated that his character's days of eating cake off the floor and playing Fireball were over, adding: "I don't think anybody wants to see Joey at his colonoscopy."

In an interview with Brisbane's 97.3FM Bianca, Terry & Bob, the 50-year-old actor said: "I understand that people really want to see that reunion. But that show was about a finite period in these six characters' lives, between 20 and 30."

He added: "I think everyone's imagination of what they (the characters) are doing is better."

LeBlanc also indicated that more than one member of the original cast would be reluctant to take part in a reunion.

He may not be keen on the idea of revisiting Friends, but the Episodes star did admit that he is still very proud to have been a part of the show.

"I think it's something that doesn't come along very often. That was a really special thing, and the stars aligned right for that," he said.

In a 2011 interview with Hollyscoop, David Schwimmer, who played Ross Gellar, said: "I really like how the show ended. I really love how it ended. I think it was kind of a perfect ending, and I can't see any good reason to revisit it."

Similarly, in an interview with ITV, Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green, said: "I don't know what we would do. I think that period of time was sort of nostalgic, you know, there's something about a time - and I think why people have such an affection for it - there was something about a time when our faces weren't shoved into cell phones and we weren't checking Facebook and Instagram.
