Eminem Has A Brother No One Knew About – And He's The Star Of A New Film

The lesser-known Mathers may be no Slim Shady just yet, but now he's starring in an art-house crime thriller film.

Eminem may be one of the world's biggest names in rap - having recently been voted the greatest rapper of all time, no less - but in spite of his high profile life, we're still finding he can surprise us.

This time, it's in the form of his lesser-known younger brother, Nathan Mathers, who's embarking on a life as a film star - something that Slim's dabbled in before, of course, with 8 Mile being his biggest acting gig to date.

Not anywhere near as well-known as his older bro, Nathan remains fairly elusive - though we do know that he's had a stab at rapping before under the moniker of Nate Kane, and once released a pretty aptly-titled song called 'Shadow of a Celebrity' a few years back. It kinda bombed, though.

We also know that he once got arrested for DUI (driving under the influence) back in 2009, when his blood-alcohol level was 0.16% - twice the 0.08% legal limit.

Slim also rapped about his brother in his material before, too - mentioning him in a line in the song 'My Mom', saying 'But I don't need it 'Well fuck it then, break it up / Take a little piece and beat it before you wake Nathan up'.

The younger Mathers brother will star in his first film role in art house crime/horror flick Devil's Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge. Directed and co-written by Emmy-nominated producer Sam Logan Khaleghi from a screenplay by Aaron Herman Russman, the film is based on the folklorish legend of the 'Nain Rouge' (the 'Red Dwarf'), a creature said to haunt the area in and around Detroit, Michigan - a place that's synonymous with Eminem, of course.

Shot on location in both Detroit and Chennai in India, the film will also feature Fox's Legends & Lies actor Jesi Jensen, who plays a military veteran returning home to the outskirts of Detroit to take up work as a rural police officer, and is assigned to a supernatural case that's surrounded by urban myth.

They'll be joined by D12's Swifty McVay, a member of D12 and a Platinum artist who's sold over 8 million albums worldwide, and Bollywood's Napoleon Duraisamy, who has starred in over 150 films, including major titles in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

It's no wonder that Nathan wants to follow in his brother's footsteps - even if that involves some seriously big shoes to fill - so fingers crossed the film world's a bit kinder to him. Pressure's on, baby bro Mathers.
