We all know Hollywood mainstay Bradley Cooper for his roles in the Hangover movies, American Sniper and plenty more, but what you may not realise is that before he became one of Tinsel Town's leading men, the Limitless Star had a brief stint in print journalism.

What's more, his first ever story for the Philadelphia Daily News has just emerged online and it asks a big question that will leave some people feeling more than a little uncomfortable.

Cooper's debut story for the newspaper, entitled 'When best friends cross the line', examined the complex emotions involved in becoming sexually involved with a close friend.

The article was tweeted on Tuesday by the Philadelphia Inquirer's Tommy Rowan, who shared a snap of the clipping, which featured Cooper in a tux, standing next to a female friend.

Rowan wrote, "Intern Bradley Cooper, age 18, wrote in his first @PhillyDailyNews story: 'Can best friends who are of the opposite sex hook up with each other without destroying their friendship? In my case, yes . . . so far.' Bold."

The A-lister, now 43, wrote: "I know once you take that step over the platonic line everything is supposed to change. Suddenly you start to hate that guy she always told you was hot. But that's not really true in my case."

The girl with whom he stepped over that platonic line was a school friend and former partner of one of his other close mates, Deborah Landes.

The actor explained that while he and Deborah still discussed other people they found attractive with each other, after their relationship became sexual, the discussions became a little more 'tense'.

However, according to Cooper, this was the only drawback. He added that he thought the reason they were able to make it work was because they started off as very close friends.

"We really don't know how to be anything other than best friends,' the four-time Oscar nominee wrote.

"I realise this when people ask me if we are going out. It sounds too weird to even imagine; however, to an outsider, it probably looks as if we are boyfriend and girlfriend."

However, Cooper added that prior to them hooking up, neither him nor his friend could fathom the idea of being anything more than just mates.

"It is somewhat easy to say everything is cool now, because we are still in school," said Cooper. "The real test will probably come when I have to hear about how much fun she's having at the Shore this summer."

While we don't know if the pair remained friends, they definitely didn't remain romantically involved, as Cooper is now in a happy relationship with model Irina Shayk, with whom he has a child.

So, for now it's still safe to assume that shitting on your doorstep is probably not a brilliant idea.
