After being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, it has been revealed that 'no drugs' were found on Ant McPartlin on Sunday.

The Saturday Night Takeaway star was heading back from a dog walk with his mum on Sunday afternoon when he lost control of his car at a roundabout in south west London, before being arrested at the scene.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told Mirror Online: "No drugs were found on the 42-year-old man arrested or in the vehicle involved in the collision.

"The man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving and was taken to south London police station. He's been released under investigation."

The police also said that even though Ant failed a breathalyser test at the roadside, they couldn't confirm whether or not this was because he was over the limit.

Since the incident it has been announced that Ant will be heading back to rehab for the second time to get treatment, having also recently announced his split from his wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong.

The TV personality first went to rehab last year after admitting he was addicted to prescription painkillers and alcohol. He was prescribed the medication following knee surgery in 2015.

At the time, he spoke to the Sun about his troubles, saying: "I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I am truly sorry. I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time.

However, after a two-month stint to address his demons, Ant managed to go on to host last year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Both ITV and a spokesperson for Ant and Dec have said that this weekend's episode of Saturday Night Takeaway - which Ant hosts alongside long-time co-host Dec - will not be broadcast.

A spokesperson for ITV explained: "ITV has taken a joint decision with Ant and Dec's team not to broadcast Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.

"We will be reviewing options for the last two episodes of the series (March 31 and April 7) which would not feature Ant who is taking time off to seek treatment. We very much hope that he gets the help that he needs."

Dec is also said to be 'absolutely devastated' that he won't be working with his TV presenting partner Ant for the foreseeable future.
