Shermanator From 'American Pie' Goes Blonde For 'Sharknado 6' Movie Role

Chris Owen, better known as the Shermanator in 'American Pie', is set to appear in the latest installment of the 'Sharknado' series

Fans of the American Pie series will doubtless remember the Shermanator, the nerd with the self-proclaimed nickname who lied about sexual conquests and hammed up his (non-existent) sexual experiences out of a deep-seated sense of insecurity that someone would find out that he wasn't cool - at all (spoiler: they knew).

Well, it may surprise you to learn that the Shermanator is now a man, unless you have a decent grasp on the concept of time - and given that we all know he modelled his persona on the Terminator (a robot killer sent back through time to destroy John Connor and change the course of history), you should be fine with that.

Sorry, where where we? Ah yes. The Shermanator is now a fully grown man, and he's quite different. Well, he's blonde, whereas his 18-year-old self had red hair. Have a gander.

Actor Chris Owen posted this on his Instagram recently: "Because when you go to Romania for the weekend to play a blond cowboy you take a picture." He also hashtagged the post with 'Sharknado', which can only mean one thing.

That's right, The Sherminator is going to be in the new Sharknado film, and he's sporting blonde hair to boot. And a cowboy outfit. What he's been up to, we don't yet know, but we sure as shit want to.

He kind of looks a bit like Ben Cumberbatch there.

For those not overly familiar with the Sharknado series, it involves sharks and a tornado, wonderfully combined into the portmanteau 'sharknado'. Great stuff.

As the Radio Times reported earlier this year, the sixth instalment of the series will feature time travel, Nazis, dinosaurs and Noah's Ark, all of which is going to royally piss of evangelical christians no doubt.

What Owen's role in the whole shebang will amount to is less clear, but it looks like he's been having a whale of a time shooting.

So THAT's what a Sharknado looks like.

In another post, the actor wrote: "Thanks so much to the cast, crew, and @syfy for welcoming me into the #sharknado family. What a crazy, great trip!"

Owen made a smattering of film appearances alongside his best known role as the Shermanator in the American Pie films, but has been off the radar in recent years.

However, in 2014, he did post this picture of a vending machine in Russia which dispenses both Haribo and cigarettes, so whatever else it is he's been up to, it's totally been worth it.

So, to summarise: American Pie. Time. Shermanator. The Terminator. Killer robots. Blonde. Sharks. Tornados. Sharknado. Vending machines. Gummy bears. Cigarettes.

Yes, I think we can all agree this story's been worth our while. Good job, everyone.
