Tom Hardy Shares Insta Photo Saying 'Venom' Filming Has Wrapped

There's been a major new development on the set of 'Venom', with Tom Hardy saying filming has now wrapped.

It'd be a total understatement to say that we're all pretty excited about Marvel's forthcoming Venom film, with Tom Hardy at the helm in the titular role.

The character was first introduced when he was played by Topher Grace in 2007's Spider-Man 3, when photographer Eddie Brock comes into contact with a symbiote (something that bonds with its host to create a single entity) and is transformed into the darkly-clad anti-hero Venom.

And now there's been an exciting development on set, with Hardy announcing that filming has officially wrapped - sharing the news in an Instagram photo that looked to be from his hair and makeup trailer, simply captioned: "Wrapped life back Bye."

While the photo's not giving much else away about the much-anticipated movie, you can see from the actor's back just how hench he's had to get for the role.

He had reportedly been getting into shape by boxing, kickboxing and MMA, with trainers Nathan Jones and Mark Mene not holding back on helping him go full beast mode.

"Training Tom Hardy, what I found surprising was actually his humility, he was very humble, down to earth," Mark said. "And you're able to communicate with him. I'm impressed, he's definitely going to live up to the character, because, you know, he's dealing with a guy that turns into an 8ft tall beast.

"The fact that Tommy is able to get into these really uncomfortable situations for training and he's able to recoup and gather himself and carry on with it, it's impressive.

"What the world is going to see is one of the darkest, most powerful super villains that Marvel's ever created. It's going to be carnage."

And apparently from his performance we can expect something of a 'masterclass' in acting, according to producer Matthew Tolmach - who wasn't keen to reveal too much about the film itself, but was hugely complimentary about his lead star.

"You know, Tom... it's like a masterclass watching him act every day and he's such a risk taker and he loved this character," said Tolmach, speaking to MTV News.

"From the day that we first met with him, my partner Avi Arad and I... we found someone who just believed in this character entirely and yet every day pushes it to a place that us mere mortals would never expect it to go."

Since he's had his 'life back', Hardy's clearly been busy getting reacquainted with life on two wheels, having passed his category A motorcycle test last summer. In fact, after filming wrapped for Venom, he's posted nothing short of seven motorbike photos of some pretty sweet (and expensive) rides - as well as a snap of he and good mate Greg Williams enjoying a brew together in bed. Bless.
