Following Ant McPartlin's arrest for drink-driving a couple of weeks ago - and his subsequent announcement to re-enter rehab - it has emerged this his estranged wife, Lisa Armstrong, is hopeful that they can 'rekindle' their marriage.

It was recently revealed that Ant had split from Lisa, a Strictly Come Dancing make-up artist and his wife of 11 years.

However, since his drink-driving car accident, an 'insider' has told The Sun that Lisa hopes he can ditch his 'toxic' friends so that they can reconcile.

The insider told the paper: "Lisa has told close pals that she thinks Ant is lost without her and that the toxic people around him turned him against her.

"She thinks the fact he's now hit rock-bottom will push him back to her and that he wasn't thinking straight when he filed for divorce."

They added: "Lisa thinks that deep down he wants her back, and thinks once he's out of rehab they can rekindle."

According to The Sun, friends of Lisa have said she is still wearing her ring, and that they reckon it's because they convinced she and Ant still have a future together.

Following the drink-driving incident, it was announced that Ant would be returning to rehab, following his two-month stint last year after admitting he was addicted to prescription painkillers and alcohol.

In an interview with The Sun at the time, he thanked his wife - along with family and close friends - for helping him through the 'really difficult time'.

He later went on to host I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! with his mate Declan Donnelly, much to the delight of their fans.

However, it has been announced that Ant will not be joining his co-host for the rest of the current Saturday Night Takeaway series - with ITV deciding to cancel last week's show, before revealing that Dec would tackle the last two on his own.

Scarlett Moffatt and Stephen Mulhern are reportedly stepping in to help on the presenting front.

Saturday's show will be the first to air since Ant checked into rehab following his arrest for drink driving.

According to the Radio Times, Scarlett and Stephen will be handing out prizes to audience members, which has previously been done by Ant.

It will also be the first show since Dec announced that he and his wife Ali Astall are expecting their child.

Sharing a snap from their wedding to Instagram, Dec wrote: "Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages. The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child. Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it."
