Singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan, who competed in the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012, has shared her amazing body transformation.

Lucy shared a picture of her in her old trousers on Twitter to show off her incredible weight loss.

Her personal trainer Ryan Bradley also shared a post on Instagram with side-by-side pictures of Lucy 11 months apart. He said hitting the gym and staying sober since last July was the secret to her success.

He wrote: "Two photos, eleven months apart...what this woman has achieved in that time is nothing short of remarkable, not just physically but also in her sobriety and the clarity that brings, it makes me doubly happy to be part of this journey not just as her coach but as her friend.

"Well done Luce, here's to the next chapter and beyond!"

Back in 2012, Lucy was forced to quite The X Factor due to illness, finishing in ninth place by default. She often performed her own original songs during the auditions and live shows, and has since gone on to release four studio albums.

Speaking on Lorraine last year, Lucy said of her weight loss journey: "I ditched the beer, biscuits and bread quite a while ago.

"I am good at doing things to an excess, I am not drinking at all at the moment so that makes a big difference.

"I had to knock them on the head."

Last November, Lucy celebrated four months sober in an Instagram post. She wrote: "Today I am feeling accomplished, emotional, determined and very, very proud.

"I don't know where this particular journey is going to take me, but already it has offered such a revitalising new view.

"I feel completely privileged to be going through it all sober, as difficult (and new) as it is.

"Still working on being the kinder, truer, more thoughtful, more honest version of myself. And I'm enjoying the change."
