Made in Chelsea star Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo has revealed she has been 'detained' in the Maldives due to a damaged passport, having shared a series of teary Instagram Stories detailing the drama.

The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! winner also shared her woes on Twitter, writing to say she had been detained at Male airport in the Maldives - where she was planning on spending Christmas - for 'a page missing' on her passport.

She said: "I am very scared, I don't know what else to do - I have been here for hours.

"I am not allowed to board a flight home because of my damaged passport but I am also not allowed to leave the airport. Please help."

In another tweet she added: "I have tried so hard to get hold of any British representative here. I am so upset."

Toffolo had been documenting the start to her trip over on Instagram, having shared photos from the plane, where she was watching Pride and Prejudice, reading her book and tucking into some food.

But things appeared to take a nasty turn when she landed in the Maldives, where Toffolo said to the camera: "Basically my passport was damaged, and I am now being effectively deported back to London."

Initially, she was able to make light of the situation, joking: "I've been crying, how embarassing!"

However, as the reality sank in, Toffolo appeared to become more agitated at the prospect of spending Christmas on her own back home - also growing increasingly confused about what action she should be taking while stranded.

Crying in a later video, she said: "I'm really trying to hold it together but I have been here for hours and hours and hours.

"I can't leave the airport, I can't go into the Maldives.

"Please help."

From the 'in between bit of the detention centre', Toffolo also said she had asked to 'speak to a British consulate so many times', but that her requests had been declined.

"Now I'm not even allowed back in the departures terminal," she said through tears.

"This is so bad. I don't even know how this is legal."
