Goodfellas Voted Robert De Niro's Best Movie Role As Actor Turns 77

Today marks Robert De Niro's 77th birthday and to celebrate the occasion his classic film Goodfellas has been voted as Twitter's favourite.
The result of the vote was pretty tight. Or... well... it could have been tighter, in all honesty. The Godfather Part II came out with 42.5 percent of the vote, while Goodfellas tipped the former with 57.5 percent.
If you were thinking that we just put together a scrappy little poll with two of what we thought were De Niro's best movies, you'd be wrong. We went all out - with pots.
Let us break it down for you. Pot number one consisted of: Mean Streets, Once Upon A Time America, A Bronx Tale and Goodfellas. Well, we know how that ended. The latter won with 84.9 percent of the votes.
Pot two included: The Godfather Part II, Taxi Driver, Meet The Parents and The King of Comedy. You guessed it, The Godfather Part II came out on top.

Now for pot three: The Deer Hunter, The Untouchables, Cape Fear and Raging Bull - the latter of which won that round with 34.5 percent.
Time for pot number four: Heat, Casino, Analyse This and The Irishman. The winner would be going up against The Godfather Part II and the win went to Casino.
Moving on to the semi-finals, it was worth reminding everyone that the vote was based on which of his performances our readers thought was better. Not which movie they preferred.
When it came to the stand off between Goodfellas and Raging Bull there were over 7,000 votes with the final results putting the former on top with 85.7 percent.
Next up was the second semi-final to determine which of his roles role would face off against Goodfellas' Jimmy Conway. When it came to The Godfather Part II and Casino, people were a bit more torn, leaving a smaller gap as the former won with 66.2 percent.

Now for the grande finale... I mean, you already know what happens. It was a stand off between Vito Corleone or Jimmy Conway. Fans found it difficult, with one explaining that it was a 'hard as f**k' decision.
There were nearly 7,000 of you that voted and Goodfellas came out with the win.
Well, what a graft we put in for De Niro's big day. Hope he appreciates it.
