Gordon Ramsay Checks Cat Is Still Alive As He Plays With Son

Turns out Ramsay's cat is a heavy sleeper

Gordon Ramsay had to take a quick break from playing with this his adorable son Oscar to check the family cat hadn't died.

The sweary chef shared a clip of himself and one-year-old son Oscar at home yesterday afternoon, in which the youngster showed very little interest in putting his shoes on and instead decided to run away from his dad.

However, the 53-year-old was surprised when the noise they made didn't wake up the cat, who was snoozing on a chair.

Seemingly panicked by the whole situation, he decided to go and check if the cat was OK by giving it a quick poke - thankfully, the cat was fine.

In the clip, Ramsay asks his young son: "Excuse me, hey, where's your shoe?" While the little one gives him the run around with a cheeky smile on his face.

At one-point, little Oscar appears to run into an armchair in which the cat is napping, but - perhaps unsurprisingly living in a house with shouty-man Ramsay - the animal manages to sleep right through all the noise and disturbance.

Spotting that the cat has failed to react, Ramsay asks: "Oops, the cat... Is it dead? Is it..." before walking over and giving the gorgeous-looking cat a gentle prod - and the feline then responds. Phew.

A relieved Ramsay adds: "Oh no, it's alive - thank god for that!"

Dad-of-five Ramsay has previously joked that Oscar looks set to carry on his dad's footsteps.

Speaking to Bang Showbiz in January, he said: "He did his first solids, but he spat them out within three seconds.

"It was butternut squash puree. And you can sort of lip read, and Tana my wife was cooking.

"And I think the words that came out of his mouth was 'f***ing disgusting'."

The little fella has already absolutely nailed his dad's signature unimpressed face.

When Ramsay shared a snap of the youngster last year, fans were quick to point out the similarities, with one asking: "Why does Gordon Ramsay's son look like he about to yell at me for overcooking the scallops?"

While a second joked: "His face is already screaming, 'The f*** is this?! It's f***ing raw! Lamb Sauce?!?'"
