If anyone's going to tell it like it is, it's Gordon Ramsay, who's as famous for his straight-talking ways as he is for his cooking.

And it turns out the frank talking applies to his own kids, too, who he's told to 'fuck off to another chef' if they want to follow in his footsteps by pursuing a career in the restaurant industry.

Speaking to a US radio station, Ramsay spoke about how he's forbidden his four eldest children - Matilda, 17, Jack and Holly, 19, and Megan, 21 - from asking their dad for a job.

He said: "I'm firm, I'm fair and I will give you everything I've got to get you to the very top.

"And that's it, no bullshit. I take a lot of flak for being straight and honest, but I'm not worried about that fucking snowflake generation."

He added: "It's like not employing the kids. I don't want the staff thinking, 'Fuck it's Ramsay's kid, we can't tell them off.'

"You want to work in this business? You fuck off to another chef, learn something different and come back with something new to improve the business."

Ramsay may be keen for his kids to forge their own paths, but that's not to say he doesn't want to inspire youngsters getting into hospitality.

When a 17-year-old kid messaged him on Twitter about his dreams of getting into the food industry, he got an overwhelmingly nice response.

He wrote to Gordon Ramsay, saying: "I'm 17 and I really like cooking, though I don't really know how to cook. I was thinking of pursuing my dream of being a cook but kind of scared of what my dad will think."

Ramsay replied: "Always follow your dreams! Don't worry I'll tell your dad!" said the Scottish-born chef.

The aspiring cook wrote back: "Thank you Chef Gordon you're a great role model. And thanks to everyone else who responded, this made me want to pursue my dream even more."

D'awww.

To be fair, Ramsay might struggle to employ his ever-expanding brood, anyway - as he's now got another on the way.

At the beginning of this year, 52-year-old Ramsay and wife Tana annnounced they were expecting their fifth child.

The TV chef confirmed the exciting news to his five and a half million Instagram followers on New Year's Day, getting his four kids to help break the news in a video.

In the clip, the camera pans along before eventually reaching his wife, Tana, who says 'Happy New Year' before lifting her top to reveal a large bump, confirming that they are expecting a new addition to the family.

The short clip was posted with the caption: "Exciting news! Happy new year from all the Ramsays."

The Kitchen Nightmares host can be heard saying: "And guess what... Happy New Year because we've got another one coming. Oh my lord, oh no!"
