Holly Willoughby has become the victim of a strange bogus weight loss ad, which features a fake quote from the presenter to help flog 'miracle' weight loss products.

Alongside the fake testimony were photos of Holly jogging and on the red carpet, and the click-through link was titled 'Holly's Almost Instant Stone Dropper'.

The fabricated quote read: "I was so excited to tell my family and friends about my new 'claense' and now they can hardly recognise me! All I have done is taken this simple ingredient for a couple of weeks and I am thrilled at the results."

Yeah, sounds totally legit, that.

The posts, which were shared on social media, can be traced to a website that falsely claims to have a connection to Women's Health magazine - despite the web address being newsworthytoday.com.

In the bogus interview with 'Women's Health', there are also accusations that Holly had been booted off of The Voice due to her weight.

It also includes a fake tweet - that the star had never posted - that reads: "I knew I'd bet back at BBC One When they had me 'leave #The Voice UK for not 'fitting' in. Now who's laughing! #weightloss #skinny #revenge".

There's then another fake quote that says: "I knew I was overweight then, but kicked off the show because of it?! It gave me the motivation to get the perfect revenge."

The article goes on to promote 'Bio Slim Cleanse', a product that is suggested to be the source of Holly's weightloss.

But, of course, to promote such a product would be entirely out of character for the This Morning presenter, who is notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to talking about her weight.

But Holly has never been one to speak publicly about it herself.

Speaking to Prima magazine, she explained that she avoids talking about it purely because of the dangers involved in doing so.

She said: "I don't want to encourage eating disorders. I try not to focus too much on my appearance. As long as I'm being healthy, that's good enough for me.

"I'm quite active and I try not to let the way I look be the main focus because it's not the important thing."

Holly added: "I actually avoid talking about my diet and exercise regime because I have interviewed so many people affected by eating disorders.

"I know that some people in chat rooms can really fixate on other people's diets."

So, yeah, not looking likely that it was 'Bio Slim Cleanse' that did the trick, is it?
