Holly Willoughby Has A Trick To Help Her Through Bushtucker Trials On 'I'm A Celeb'

Sometimes the smell can be a bit much for the ITV presenter

It's fair to say Holly Willoughby has been one of reasons to watch I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here - purely because she truly does experience those bush tucker trials along with each and every celeb, and it's hilarious.

She screams, gags and cringes along with every disgusting and disturbing trial, but apparently even though she's struggled, there's one thing she can't get past and that's the smell - so she has a little secret to help her get through it.

It turns out the ITV This Morning presenter rubs a bit of peppermint oil on her skin before she has to go near the more stomach-turning trials and when things get too much, she uses the scent to mask the more questionable smells.

On the Sunday night show there were some truly stomach-churning scenes when Fleur East was treated to the ever-so-lovely trial of having rotten tomatoes and bugs chucked over her during the 'Gore Seasons Pizza' challenge - which was even more disgusting to watch than it sounds.

In order to combat the grim smells ahead, the 37-year-old explained her use of the oil, she said: "We're dealing with very smelly things. But I planned for this Bushtucker trial because it's going to be smelly. So I've got peppermint oil and scented oils on my fingers."

This means you can really tell when things a getting really bad in the trial if you see Holly lift her hands to her face.

In her defence she is pretty new to the I'm a Celeb game, this being her first time presenting down under after replacing Dec Donnelly's life-long presenting pal, Ant McPartlin, for the latest season of the celebrity challenge show.

It shouldn't really come as a shock to viewers that she needs some kind of coping mechanism for the smell - come on who wouldn't? Holly isn't the fiercest when it comes to critters and creepy crawly creatures.

Her co-host Dec already said back when she was announced to present the show with him, he was excited about the fact, she 'is scared of everything'.

He said: "I am also pleased to hear Holly is scared of everything. I am almost stupidly excited at the thought of watching her during the eating trials."

Poor Holly, let's hope she makes it through - and doesn't ever sign herself up for the show.
