The Big Lebowski and 10 Cloverfield Lane star John Goodman showed off his 90kg weight-loss walking the red carpet on Monday.

He rocked up to The Freak Brothers premiere in Los Angeles with a very slim physique draped in an orange jumper, shirt, jeans, and jacket.

The Hollywood actor's weight-loss journey began in 2007 but never steered a consistent path until now.

According to Page Six, John, 69, said: "In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits.

"This time, I wanted to do it slowly - move, exercise.

"I'm getting to the age where I can't afford to sit still anymore."

After starting to shed the pounds in 2007 he would tip back and forth between a healthy diet and unhealthy eating.

He decided to change his lifestyle for good when his bodyweight reached around 181kg.

The animated film actor who appeared in cult classic The Emperor's New Groove went sober and hired celebrated personal trainer Mackie Shilstone.

Part of that change meant adopting a Mediterranean-type diet of fish, olive oil, vegetables, nuts, and fruit.

He also made it his mission to walk at least 10-12,000 steps every day.

John told People: "It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your ass and figure out what you're going to eat next.

"I wanted to live life better."

John claimed it was all down to 'portion control' and the ability to recognise when food was excessive or necessary, according to Page Six.

He said his previous diet involved shoving everything in his mouth without thinking so much about it.

PT Machie confirmed the transformation is part of an ongoing process with lasting results.

Monday's premiere was not the first time we've witnessed John's crazy change in body image.

He also walked out at the Trumbo premiere in 2015 having lost a whopping 45kg.

No wonder he looked so comfortable on Monday's red carpet event with co-stars Pete Davidson and Blake Anderson.

According to IMDB, John grew up with a waitress mother and a postal worker father who died when he was a small child.

He won a 'best actor' Golden Globe award in 1993 for his performance in the TV series Roseanne, in which he played Dan Conner.

He's contributed to over 50 films and hosted hit US comedy show Saturday Night Live 14 times.
