Jack Black is known for many things, traversing the worlds of music, film, comedy and YouTube as he does.
However, one thing he is definitely not known for is being ripped - although that could all be about to change in 2020.
With the dawning of a new decade and having reached the age of 50, Black has released a video on his YouTube channel in which he revealed his ambition to 'get ripped in 2020'.

In his opening monologue, the School of Rock star said: "It's 2020, a new day is dawning, I'm 50 years old. It's time to whip myself into shape. I'm on the back nine of my career - back nine of my life.
"It's time to kick ass and take names - I'm comin' for you Hemsworth. I'm gon' get ripped.
"I got a hook up with a trainer to the stars, looking forward to breaking ground on the new me - let's do this."
This trainer to the stars is Mark Wildman, who introduced Black to kettle bell swings in his first workout of his new fitness regime.

Outlining his ambitions in the gym, Black said: "I just wanna kick ass, I wanna get ripped; I don't wanna sacrifice calories though, I wanna eat whatever the f*** I want, but still be motherf***in' ripped - is that possible?"
"Sort of," Wildman replied.
As the workout drew to a close, and Black began to suffer from a 'severe case of swamp ass', the Tenacious D frontman revealed that he is 5ft 7ins and weighs 240lbs - a mass which he hopes to knock down by 25lbs.

He then decided to make himself accountable by whipping off his shirt for the classic before and after shots.
He said: "Here's what I wanna do, and I don't even wanna do this, I think what I should do right now - take off the f***in' shirt, so we can go before and after. Let's see what we're working with, let's see what we're working with, let's see what we got."
After being told by Wildman that his goal is easily realistic, Black then departed the gym a shell of the man who entered.
He said: "I was playing it cool back there, but I don't know if I'm built for this s***. My legs are like spaghetti, I'm trembling, I'm spasming. I'm just a sack of potatoes."

Time will tell whether Black sticks at it and reaches his target - hopefully he'll do himself a favour and just won't give up*.
*That's a School of Rock reference, you know that bit where he goes on about 'The Man'? Not sure if that was clear.
