Jennifer Aniston has showed off her latest friend - an adorable little puppy named Lord Chesterfield.

The 51-year-old star a posted a cute little clip of the sleeping rescue pup, in which she can be heard asking him: "Chesterfield, have you fallen asleep with your bone in your mouth? I think you have."

Sharing the clip, Aniston told her 35.7 million followers that the pooch had stolen her heart 'immediately', before thanking the rescue centre for its work.

She wrote: "Hi! I'd like to introduce to you the newest member of our family... this is (a very tired) Lord Chesterfield. He stole my heart immediately.

"A HUGE thank you to @wagmorpets for the incredible work you do. Grateful you take such great care of these rescues and find them their forever homes."

Lord Chesterfield, who has to have one of the fanciest dog names I've ever heard, will be joining Aniston's other furry pals Clyde, a Schnauzer mix, and pitbull Sophie.

In December, the former Friends star revealed that she had been considering getting a new dog following the death of her German Shepard Dolly who died last summer.

When asked if she was considering adopting a new dog, she told People: "Oh God, I've come so close.

"And my friend Ellen DeGeneres, as you know, loves nothing more than to bombard me with extremely heart-breaking photographs of animals that need homes.

"And by the way, if I could have a llama, a pig, an alpaca, sheep, goats, I would.

"But I have to be very sensitive to Clyde and Sophie because it's all about whether they are going to be happy."

Animal-lover Jen has previously spoken how fond she is of dogs, even getting a tattoo as a tribute to a pooch she grew up with.

Speaking to Dog Monthly this year, she said: "I had a dog, Norman, who was so lovely and was my best friend for many years.

"When he went at the age of 15 I was heartbroken and I had his name tattooed on my right foot, so he still comes for walks with me."
