Does the JK stand for Just Karbs? No it doesn't. It stands for Jonathan Kimble. I don't even think karbs make you hench, they make you fat and saggy, and carbs begins with a C anyway.
Never the less, when this photo of JK Simmons seemingly preparing for his Justice League role circulated round the internet and it looked like he'd benched everything in the gym, people wondered if it was real?
Those arms!
But yes they are real.

Many people assumed it was him beefing up for his role as Commissioner Gordon, but he's denied this in an interview with Business Insider.
"This is all coincidental," he said. "After the second and final time that I got hugely fat in my life and when I lost that weight six or seven years ago, I pretty much decided that I was going to stay in decent shape for the rest of my life."
There's staying in decent shape, then there's looking like you could crush Smart cars just by flexing.
He also added that Commissioner Gordon is not historically a big guy and he doesn't want to change that.

I just had free time to go to the gym," Simmons continued. "Those [photos] were shot at the end of April. I'm huge now!"
