All eyes will be on Joaquin Phoenix during this year's awards season as he's a frontrunner to win a load of gongs.

His portrayal of Arthur Fleck in Joker has been praised from fans and critics around the world, with many calling his version of the Gotham villain the best yet.

These awards shows usually attract a lot of glitz and glamour and celebrities like to freshen up their look for each one. However, Phoenix will be sticking to the same tuxedo for every event for a good cause.

He's partnered with legendary designed Stella McCartney, who's revealed the interesting decision from the actor in a post on Instagram.

Stella wrote: "This man is a winner. Wearing custom Stella because he chooses to make choices for the future of the planet. He has also chosen to wear the same tux for the entire awards season to reduce waste. I am proud to join forces with you."

That tuxedo was very much on show when the actor won a Golden Globe for Best Actor.

When he accepted his award he certainly didn't hold back.

After acknowledging his fellow nominees he then told the crowd (much to broadcaster NBC's dismay): "There is no f***ing best actor."

He thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press for 'recognising and acknowledging the link between animal agriculture and climate change. It's a very bold move, making tonight plant-based;' and also gave a shout out to his Joker director Todd Phillips, adding: "I'm such a pain in the ass. I cannot believe you put up with me."

It will be interesting to see how Phoenix fares at the other award shows later this year.

Joker received a huge eight-minute-long standing ovation after it premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2019, as reported by Variety.

That and the fact it absolutely smashed it at the box office, raking in more than $1 billion worldwide - a feat made even more impressive when you take into account that it only cost $62.5m to make.
