Kanye West Wants Jay-Z To Be His Vice President

Kanye West certainly raised a few eyebrows during his first campaign rally in his bid to become US President. But it seems like he's still pushing on with his fight against Joe Biden and Donald Trump, and has outlined plans for his running mate.

Even though the 43-year-old rapper already has a vice president in mind if he was to secure the White House, he reckons his long-time friend and regular collaborator Jay-Z would make an even better lieutenant in the political world.

Speaking to blogger Kris Kaylin, Kanye said: "I reached out to Jay to possibly be my vice president, my running mate.

"We have Michelle Tidball, who is a Christian pastor out of Wyoming, who is my running mate. But she would be open to taking another position if we found another running mate."

The two rappers have enjoyed a professional and personal friendship that has lasted more than a decade, overcoming public disputes in the process.

Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, told US chat show host David Letterman in 2018 that they fall out from time to time because they're like brothers.

"That's my brother. We're beyond friends. Like literally, my little brother is Kanye. And like your little brother, things happen sometimes," he said on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.

"It's still your sibling forever. We don't come from the same mom and dad, but I've watched Kanye from [when he was] without an album."

But it will be interesting to see whether Jay takes the bait to join Kanye's 2020 bid to become the President of the United States of America after his first rally.

The rally, held in South Carolina, involved everything from tears to promises of a million dollars for anyone who has a baby.

The 43-year-old, who had '2020' shaved into his hair for the occasion, announced on social media earlier this month that he'd be making a bid to take the US Presidency from the clutches of Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Shutting down reports he'd abandoned the idea, Kanye packed out the Exquis Event Centre in North Charleston, South Carolina, for his campaign rally on Sunday (19 July).

While he covered a number of topics, the star appeared to become most emotional when he started talking about abortion - a subject that can divide the voting public.

He revealed he is against the procedure, but still thinks it should be legal, recalling how he and wife Kim Kardashian nearly aborted their first child North West, but eventually decided against it.
