Katie Hopkins has amended her Instagram bio to mention her permanent ban from Twitter, gloating in the description: "The home of the Twitter legend formerly known as @KTHopkins."

The far right commentator, who rose to fame after featuring on The Apprentice, had more than one million followers before her suspension, and has regularly been retweeted by the US President Donald Trump.

But the 45-year-old doesn't seem to fussed about losing her account, having simply channelled her efforts into Instagram, where she's now referred to herself as the 'Twitter legend formerly known as @KTHopkins'.

Her most recent Instagram post, from two days ago, is a video captioned: "If you can't afford to feed 1 kid, why have 3?"

Her Instagram posts may be as likely to cause offence as her tweets, with the top comment simply reading: "Just shut up for once."

Hopkins' post was referencing the efforts of Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford, who has encouraged the government not to drop free school meals for children from low-income families during the summer holidays.

After the government U-turned on their plans, Hopkins had also tweeted: "Dear @MarcusRashford, do you think women should think about how they are going to feed a child before they decide to have it?

"I do not want to pay to feed other people's kids. You are welcome to."

She has also recently criticised the Black Lives Matter movement online, among many other things.

Explaining why Hopkins' account had been permanently taken down, a Twitter spokesperson said: "Keeping Twitter safe is a top priority for us - abuse and hateful conduct have no place on our service and we will continue to take action when our rules are broken.

"In this case, the account has been permanently suspended for violations of our hateful conduct policy."

It's not the first time Hopkins has had her Twitter account suspended - far from it, in fact.

Back in January, she took aim at Countdown presenter Rachel Riley, which prompted Twitter to freeze her account.

However, this time the ban is permanent.
