Kevin Hart's wife Eniko has spoken out about his involvement in a car accident on Sunday.

The 40-year-old actor and comedian suffered 'major back injuries' in the incident, which took place in West Valley at around 12.45am.

He had been riding as a passenger in one of his cars - a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda - when it crashed from Cold Canyon Road onto Mulholland Highway.

The comedian's wife has spoken out about his condition on her way to visit him at hospital.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Eniko said: "He's great, he's going to be just fine."

She added: "He's good. Everybody's good, thank god," but went on to say that he isn't laughing and joking just yet.

After hearing the news, many of Hart's famous friends posted online to show their support, with Hart's Jumanji co-star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson posting a picture of them both from when they were filming the upcoming sequel for the franchise.

He wrote in the caption: "Stop messing with my emotions brother @kevinhart4real. We have a lot more laughing to do together. Love you man. Stay strong".

The Rock showed his support on Instagram.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews was another star to share the love, tweeting: "Get well soon, brother."

Bryan Cranston also took to Instagram sharing a picture of him and Hart with the caption: "I've just heard that @kevinhart4real was injured today in a car accident in Los Angeles. Let's all send him positive energy and healing thoughts. He's a good human. Get well soon, brother."

Confirming the incident, a press release from the California Highway Patrol said driver Jared S. Black had 'immediately lost control' of the vehicle, which 'left the road and rolled over down the northern embankment'.

Back in July, Kevin Hart posted an Instagram photo of what appears to be the vehicle involved in the accident, saying he had 'added some more muscle to the family' for his 40th.

The CHS also said Black was 'determined not to be under the influence of alcohol'.

Hart and Black were taken to nearby hospitals, while another passenger, Rebecca Broxterman, suffered 'only complaint of pain'.

The press release explained: "Two of the three occupants were trapped in the vehicle. The remaining occupant and owner of the vehicle, Kevin Hart, left the scene to his nearby residence to get medical attention.

"The driver was located in the driver's seat of the vehicle and determined not to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.

"Hart and Black sustained major back injuries as a result of this collision and were transported and treated at nearby hospitals (Northridge - Hart, UCLA Westwood - Black)."
