The Chase star Mark Labbett has received a slew of compliments from his followers after posting a photo of his slimmed down face.

Labbett - or The Beast, as he's known on the ITV quiz show - posted a snap of himself on Twitter with his face daubed in black make-up.

The 55-year-old's followers were quick to heap praise on his current look, with one replying: "You built a time capsule in lockdown? Look well younger here."

Another wrote: "Younger looking and you've lost weight. Well done, as you're looking good, not that you didn't before."

A third wrote: "How much weight have you lost! Looking good for it."

While another person asked: "You look great, what's your secret?"

Back in July, Labbett took to Twitter to show off his impressive weight-loss:

Labbett has spoken previously about losing weight during lockdown but said he'd 'not been trying' to slim down.

Appearing on Loose Women in August, he said: "I think people are going to hate me, I've not been trying to lose weight, I've had the brush with this virus, and what's been happening is I've not been going out.

"My wife does shift work so I've been the primary carer... as viewers will know, looking after a toddler, you don't have time to eat!

"I was 27 stone when I was diagnosed with diabetes, I was 23 stone at my last check-up in March and hopefully I'll be a bit lighter than that, but the main one is eating a bit more sensibly and I'm doing more exercises these days."

In October last year, Labbett tweeted to say he'd lost so much weight, The Chase production team had to splash out on a new suit for him to wear.

He wrote: "Lost four inches off my chest and six inches off my belly in last six months. So they have bought me a new suit for the show.

"First target achieved."

Labbett is set to star in a new online panto alongside his fellow chaser Anne Hegerty, which will be filmed at Rhyl Pavilion, the Rhyl Journal reports.

The panto will be available online throughout December - you can find get your hands on some tickets here, if you fancy.
