People are well and truly baffled by a clip of Mark Zuckerberg waving the American flag while gliding through the water on an electronic surfboard - his way of celebrating Independence Day yesterday (4 July), much to the delight of meme fans across the internet. Check out the video here:

Yep it's like the heavily-sunscreened surfboard moment all over again.

While many people tend to celebrate 4 July with a barbeque or a picnic with friends, Zuckerberg decided to go a bit extra, taking to the water in a bizarre tribute to his nation.

According to Business Insider, it's thought that Zuckerberg was riding one of his $12,000 (£8,600) efoil boards made by Lift Foils, which he was previously seen riding last summer.

In the clip, which was posted on social media, Zuckerberg is holding a giant American flag in his hand, which blows in the wind poetically as he rides across the water.

In his original post, he even chose John Denver's 1971 country hit 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' to accompany the footage for added patriotism.

"Happy July 4th!" the 37-year-old Facebook billionaire wrote in the caption.

As you can probably imagine, the internet enjoyed the set-up very, very much - and people have since been busy turning it into memes.

One person commented: "This is the stuff meme dreams are made of."

He's been Photoshopped into Titanic alongside Kate Winslet:

And superimposed into recent terrifying ocean fire in the Gulf of Mexico:

Another transformed the moment into a new Jaws trailer:

Others simply made one quick amend to the video, adding the Facebook logo onto Zuckerberg's American flag:

And of course, many people went for the classic approach of taking the mickey out of Zuck, saying he simply is not human.

One tweeted: "This man is definitely a Robot of a Shape-shifting Reptilian Overlord. No inbetween."

Another added: "Someone told Mark Zuckerberg to act totally normal for July 4th."

A third said: "Am I the only thinking Zuck figured out the secret to everlasting life? He looks more and more like an AI as time passes."

One other person quipped on Instagram: "AI is amazing, didn't know that robot can sky surf now a day."
