'How you doin?'

Matt LeBlanc has revealed the real reason why he took the Top Gear role. Fundamentally, he needed a job.

Hey, at least he's honest.

He appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden over in the US where he explained that filming for the absolutely incredible series Episodes was coming to an end (if you haven't checked it out yet, you should) and he needed a job. So he said: "Okay, why not?"

Another revelation was that he believes American drivers are better than the British. Urm... what?!

Check out the interview here:

Since the newly revamped Top Gear hit our screens this summer, LeBlanc has proved himself as a firm favourite with the fans.

There have been rumours that LeBlanc and Chris Evans have clashed during filming, with many reporting that their relationship broke down after the infamous 'Cenotaph stunt', which was heavily criticised for being 'disrespectful'.

A mystery source told The Sun: "Matt was never Chris's choice - it was a decision forced upon him to attract the US market.

"He accepted it and was desperate to strike up a bond when they were filming, but the spark just wasn't there.

"Since the Cenotaph, their relationship's deteriorated. Chris thinks Matt severely damaged the brand. Behind the scenes it's very frosty between them."

Time will only tell if the new series will return for a new series next year.
