Coolio Reckons Eminem Could Be Killed For Dissing Trump On New Album
| Last updated
After Eminem dropped his ninth studio album, Revival, fans have found one particular common thread throughout: his beef with Donald Trump.
Among themes of fatherhood and growing old, the Trump disses are pretty relentless throughout the album. Eminem even compares the President to Adolf Hitler, and calls him a 'Nazi' and an 'Aryan' who 'generally hates the black people, degrades Hispanics'.
He also likens Trump to a parrot in the song 'Like Home', which also features singer Alicia Keys. Oh, and he calls him a canary, too, at one point.
The disses come thick and fast - and fellow rapper Coolio is concerned, it seems.
Speaking to TMZ, the 'Gangsta's Paradise' star was asked how he thought Donald Trump would react, and responded: "Who knows, man? Trump is a little bit... he's a weirdo, so you know, he might do anything.
"He might have Eminem killed."
TMZ noted that it was uncertain if Coolio was joking or not as he was wearing 'mirrored shades'. LAD.
Despite his concerns, though, the rapper did seem pretty impressed by Eminem for tackling politics - as it's an area many rappers don't venture into.
"People just want to party and have fun and bullshit," he continued. "Nobody wants to hear anything that's stimulating in thought.
"We've been conditioned like that for a long time, especially the youngsters, they don't want anything that's controversial because they don't have time for that.
"This generation, I think they ready for something. It's just got to take a couple of people to come out and do it. They follow each other.
"When one cat come out and do something, they do what he does. Someone's gotta get a hit record with something controversial then everyone will start doing it."
Eminem has also dragged Trump's daughter Ivanka into the fray on the track 'Framed', where he raps: "Donald Duck's on as the Tonka Truck in the yard / But dog how the fuck is Ivanka Trump in the trunk of my car?"
Regardless of what you think of Donald - or his 36-year-old daughter - there's no denying that's a fairly controversial line. And also just a bit weird.
To be fair, though, must feel pretty good to have Coolio watching your back - even if it is from behind some snazzy mirrored shades.
