Paul Walker's Mum Shared Details Of The Day He Died In Documentary

Today would have been Paul Walker's 48th birthday but tragically, the star's life was cut short on 30 November 2013 when he was involved in a car accident after leaving a charity event.

His mum, Cheryl, has previously spoken about the morning her son passed away and described him being in good spirits.

Speaking on the Netflix documentary I Am Paul Walker - which was dedicated to the Fast and Furious star - Cheryl explained how Paul was in high spirits on the morning of his death.

She detailed how he was sat in the kitchen talking about his excitement at seeing his (at the time) 15-year-old daughter, Meadow, while on a break from filming Furious 7. They were making plans to pick out a Christmas tree and decorate it that night.

Cheryl said: "We were having this good conversation, and he'd forgotten about an event he had. He got a text and said 'Oh my gosh, I'm supposed to be somewhere'."

She told The Dr Oz Show: "He was in my home, he left to go to the event, and so I was expecting him back in the early afternoon, evening. And we had plans with his daughter, too, to decorate a Christmas tree that night."

That was the moment Paul left to get to the event which had been set up by his charity Reach Out and was hoping to help victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

After he left the fundraising event that afternoon, the car he was travelling in with his financial advisor, Roger Rodas, 38, crashed into a concrete lamppost before catching fire and exploding.

Speaking to People, Cheryl explained how she's keen to make sure people know exactly who her son was.

She said: "I think so many people think, 'Oh, he was just a movie star who was killed in a car accident. But there was so much more to him. That was just a piece of who he was. He was an amazing man.

"I've gotten letters from people all over the world who said he made a difference in their lives. That is such a blessing. He's never forgotten."
