Beyonce and Jay-Z are one of the world's most famous power couples, meaning they can probably afford not only the finer things in life, but the finest.

And it's believed that their latest extravagance may be a custom Rolls-Royce, reported to have cost a staggering $28 million - making it the world's most expensive car.

Rolls-Royce recently unveiled a bespoke Boat Tail convertible that had been envisioned and commissioned by 'extraordinary clients', saying the build was the company's 'most ambitious project yet'.

The luxury four-seat ride features a rear deck that contains a picnic set and a double refrigerator that 'houses the clients' favorite vintages of Armand de Brignac', which can be rapidly cooled to 'precisely six degrees'.

While the wealthy clients have not been named, some people have started connecting the dots to speculate that Beyonce and Jay-Z are the lucky owners - having noticed a number of potential giveaways.

A source told the Telegraph, "It's thought this fantastic car has been commissioned by Beyoncé and Jay-Z with all its detailing matching their favorite things."

These include the car's colour - 'oceanic blue' - which could well be a nod to their nine-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.

The Rolls-Royce website says: "The clients' favourite hue: an oceanic blue infused with shimmering crystals. The complex colour is subtle in shadow and vibrant in light. Its smooth edges were achieved by delicately running a finger over the definitive body line before the paint set."

The car also features two-sided timepieces - one for a man, one for a woman - from luxury watchmakers Bovet 1822, which can be either worn or used as clocks in the car.

Rolls-Royce also says the car honours 'the owners' lifelong reverence for life at sea', with its nautical form evoking 'graceful J-class yachts' - supposedly relevant as the couple are said to regularly holiday along the French Riviera.

Another clue comes from the champagne reference, as Armand de Brignac was bought by a company led by Jay-Z back in 2014 - although he sold 50 percent of his stake to Moët Hennessy in February.

The Telegraph's Patrick Sawer and Jeremy Taylor added: "It is understood Jay-Z signed the underside of the Rolls-Royce motif on the grille before it was mounted, while Beyoncé did the same beneath the rear badge, with both signing the engine manifold."

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls- Royce Motor Cars, said in a statement: "Boat Tail is our most ambitious project yet. Coachbuild, in collaboration with its clients, has ignored all preconceived notions of possibility and set a new standard. This is Bespoke at its purest."

Alex Innes, the company's Head of Coachbuild Design, added: "I enjoyed many meetings with the owner and his wife at their home - they were wonderfully welcoming.

"They like to serve food in the mezze style, so we talked about the sense of hosting and grandeur which had to be part of this car. We road tested with everything on board at 155mph, just to ensure there are no rattles."
