Everyone loves a good fry-up, even if we all have our own little preferences - like asking for double black pudding, going for a couple of poached eggs to cut down on the oil or ensuring your baked beans come in their own little ramekin so as not to touch anything else on the plate.

Well, it turns out Libertines singer Pete Doherty just likes his full English breakfasts very full indeed, having been photographed completing a giant brekkie challenge at a café in Margate, Kent.

Dalby Café, where Doherty feasted, shared photos from his stab at the breakfast, which comes served on a huge silver platter.

The photo caption said: "Look who popped into the Dalby cafe and attempted the meggabreakfast. Only big Pete Doherty. He came he saw he conquered, smashed it in 19.30 minutes. Pete can do it under 20 minutes, can you???!!"

The post also explains that the gut-busting breakfast contains four eggs, four rashers of bacon, four sausages, a quarter pounder burger, chips, hash browns, onion rings, bubble and squeak, beans or tomatoes, mushrooms, two slices of thick bread and a tea or coffee.

The breakfast usally costs £17.50 - but if you can eat it in 20 minutes or less you can get it for free.

If your appetite doesn't quite stretch that far, there are also small, medium and large equivalents, as well as a veggie version and one with an American twist, which comes with a burger, hash crowns and onion rings.

Some people commented to brand Doherty a 'greedy twat', with one person commenting: "Love you Peter but that is obscene!"

But many others were left pretty impressed by the musician's successful attempt.

"What a legend," an Instagrammer said.

"That man is a British hero!" a second wrote.

"Bloody hell, quite a feed!" another commented.

Someone else also spotted the bottle of milkshake next to his empty plate, writing: "Haha fuck sake man. A Yazoo is exactly what you want after you've just eaten five stone worth of food as well isn't it?"

If you're up in Greenock, Scotland, you can follow in Doherty's greedy footsteps with this 'Crunch box' from East West Spice. It's a takeaway box stuffed full with chips, two pizza crunches (that's 'deep fried pizza', for anyone south of the border), fish, two sausages, two hamburgers, onion rings, chicken nuggets and fritters along with a two-litre bottle of Irn-Bru. All yours for just a tenner.
