Richard Branson's Picture With Elon Musk Sparks Debate Over Kitchen

When British billionaire Richard Branson posted a picture to mark the day he would be blasted into space, he probably didn't expect Twitter to turn into an interior debate. Well, maybe he did - it is Twitter after all.

Users went all Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen after the Virgin founder (as in the company) shared a picture with a 'dated' oak-style kitchen in the background. Oh and Elon Musk.

It's fair to say that the wooden cabinets, aged tiles, average lighting and strange, speckled floor wasn't what we'd expect but maybe it explains exactly why he's one of the richest fellas in the world.

Or, it could just be a rental - as Elon Musk pointed out later on.

Airing their disapproval of the kitchen, one person wrote: "To have billions of dollars and THOSE cabinets? What's the point." What's the point in anything, eh?

Someone replied: "Billionaires love to say they create jobs but I can see six unemployed people in this picture: interior designer, contractor, personal shopper, tailor, hairstylist, and photographer."

Another added: "Forget that look at his f****** floor gotta be the worst home interior I ever seen."

Defending the pair, and the kitchen, one person wrote: "Maybe they are more humble than yourself and either enjoy the simple things in life or don't have time to worry about what their kitchen cabinets look like..."

Someone else agreed: "The reason why they are rich is cos they don't spend their money on crap. Like interior designers and personal shoppers and stuff. That's why u see so many ultra rich in crap clothes and then the poor/middle class look like a million dollars with crap they don't need."

Mystery solved.

Incredibly, Musk responded to the tweet complaining about 'THOSE cabinets'. He wrote the explanation, saying: "It was Richard's rental house, which overall is great, but I agree regarding the cabinets haha. This was 3am, day of flight. Wasn't expecting this brutal pic of me to be posted, but oh well."

Others were much more concerned with the fact that Elon Musk had opted to wear no shoes and socks for the snap.

Some people even started to analyse his feet using a toe chart which seems to explain your background and heritage.
