Iron Man is going to be a 15-year-old black girl called RiRi Williams.

You must have heard by now that with Tony Stark aging and his body buckling under the pressure of being Iron Man, Marvel have decided to replace the playboy billionaire with a teenage black girl.

The story goes that Tony Stark has been on the lookout for a replacement to step into the Iron Man suit so when Riri Williams rocks up with her own suit, she's quite obviously the right choice.

Riri is set to make her debut in the upcoming Civil War II Marvel comics which obviously means there is going to be a changing-of-the-guard of sorts in the movie franchise too.

And so the man who has been playing Tony Stark since 2008, Robert Downey Jr., decided to take to Twitter to let everyone know how he feels about the new recruit...

For all those that don't know, BAMF stands for Bad Ass Mother Fucker. And it's hard to disagree with him.

Naturally, the news of the new Iron Man being a woman has been met with a mixed response. While most see it as a positive move in a new direction, others are saying Marvel succumbed to the PC brigade.

As does Iron Man writer Brian Michael Bendis who told Time: "And this story of this brilliant, young woman whose life was marred by tragedy that could have easily ended her life, just random street violence, and went off to college was very inspiring to me."

Either way, I look forward to seeing the changeover and watching a new chapter in the Iron Man series.
