Rupert Grint And Girlfriend Georgia Groome Welcome Baby Girl

Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and girlfriend Georgia Groome have announced the birth of their daughter.

A statement from the couple said: "Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl. We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time."

Grint, 31, and his 28-year-old partner Groome - who is also an actor, most well-known for her turn as Georgia Nicholson in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging - have been together since 2011.

Last year the couple sparked marriage rumours when they were seen sporting what some suspected to be matching weddings rings, but a spokesperson denied they had married.

However, just last month the couple did announce that they were expecting their first child together, with a representative for the duo saying in a statement: "Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are excited to announce they are expecting a baby and would please ask for privacy at this time."

When Grint turned 30, he had spoken about his hopes of starting a family, saying he didn't feel he was far from settling down to have kids.

In a 2018 interview with The Guardian, he said: "Turning 30 felt strange.

"It just doesn't feel like I'm there yet and I don't know what the future holds. I'm just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters and see what happens.

"I'd like to settle down and have kids soon. If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It's quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint's a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with."

No doubt the two will introduce their baby girl to the wonderful wizarding world of Harry Potter when she's old enough.

Mind you, when it comes to third film, Groome may have to take the reins, as Grint has previously said he can't watch past Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

In an interview with the Radio Times, he said: "I think those early ones are OK. More time has passed. I can detach myself a bit more from that kid.

"I did see Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone not long ago, for the first time since the premiere, and I actually enjoyed looking back. But the more recent ones I definitely couldn't do."
