If there's one thing Ryan Reynolds doesn't take too seriously, it's his marriage - and we mean that in the best way possible.

He and wife Blake Lively are regularly seen trolling each other on social media, in perhaps the ultimate display of #couplegoals.

So, naturally, when reports surfaced that they couple were having marital problems, it didn't take long for Reynolds to address them in his own hilarious way.

Linking to an article that suggested the couple were struggling to find quality time together, he tweeted:

Reynolds and Lively have been married for almost six years and have two daughters together - Ines and James.

In the past, Lively has explained that they don't let their hectic work schedules get in the way of their relationship.

"My husband and I don't work at the same time, so we all go together as a family," she told People magazine.

"If we're away as a family, it's never more than for a day. We stay together."

The two are known for their tongue-in-cheek comments on marriage and family life, with Reynolds once tweeting that there was nothing better than the simply joys - like 'discovering my wife and I had a second daughter over a year ago'.

For Reynolds' birthday last year, there was similar trolling as he tweeted: "My kids tried to surprise me for my birthday this morning. I totally heard them coming and snuck out to start a new life somewhere else."

But not to be outdone, Blake Lively then tweeted a photo of Ryan Gosling, captioning it: "Happy birthday, baby."

When Lively's big day rolled around, Reynolds then posted a snap of the two of them but with his wife cropped out, saying: "Happy Birthday to my amazing wife."

Then for Valentine's Day this year, Reynolds brought the banter again, posting a photo of him holding a heart-shaped cake with the caption: "I baked this cake for my wife. The icing is glue, 'cause I'm not a scientist."

Later that day he posted another photo where it looked like he was holding a phone - to which Lively ingeniously quipped: "Why won't this damn app swipe right?!"

Reynolds replied, saying that it was because it's 'the E-Harmony app', to which his wife responded by asking him to show her how to download it - because 'ever since Ashley Madison closed I've been so lonely'.
