Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds made us laugh until our sides hurt in The Hitman's Bodyguard.

And it looks like their comedic chemistry is set to continue after the two signed up to be a part of a new animated series, according to Variety.

It wouldn't be a Samuel L. Jackson project if it didn't have his iconic vocabulary attached to it, with the creator behind the series deciding to call it Futha Mucka. Genius.

Not much is known about the upcoming project, but we do know that it will appear on the mobile video streaming service Quibi.

A brief synopsis has been leaked, which says: "Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds love each other. More accurately, Ryan loves Sam.

"When a minor mishap causes Sam to become Ryan's primary caregiver, things get weird. Ryan is delighted to spend all of his time with Sam. Sam couldn't be reached for comment."

Jim and Brian Kehoe are both the executive producers and showrunners of the series, who were the brains behind the hilarious 2018 movie Blockers.

Sadly, we haven't been given a release date for Futha Mucka so we'll just have to get excited for it until there's more news.

In the meantime, fans of the two actors can relish in the fact that they will be joining forces again in a sequel to The Hitman's Bodyguard.

The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard was initially set for release on 28 August 2020, however it appears it's been pushed back to drop in 2021.

The follow up to the 2017 action-comedy hints that Jackson's onscreen wife, Selma Hayek, will be getting a protector for herself.

The official synopsis reads: "Four years after the events of the original film, bodyguard Michael Bryce continues his friendship with assassin Darius Kincaid as they embark on a new adventure to save Sonia, Darius's wife, from new threats."

But in even better news, it seems as though Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas will be joining the already stacked cast list.

As yet there are no details about the characters Freeman or Banderas are set to play, but this time around the film will reportedly see hitman Darius Kincaid (played by Jackson) and wife Sonia (Hayek) go on a mission to the Amalfi Coast in Italy, with bodyguard Michael Bryce (Reynolds), of course.
