There's no denying Shane Warne will go down in the Australian book of legends.

He's considered one of the best bowlers in the history of cricket, named Cricketer of the Year in 1994 and inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2013.

So it's no surprise that a Hollywood movie would be made about the spin king, however the big question whenever a biopic gets discussed is who will play the lead character.

While you could probably find a load of actors who look similar to Warnie, the man himself has a few ideas.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, the 50-year-old said: "Chris Hemsworth would be good, Leonardo DiCaprio...you want someone super cool."

Interesting choices there Warnie.

"A guy has written a script about it, this company want to shoot it, so it's basically a Hollywood movie shot for India. And they're basing it on my story of how we put together the Royals in 2008 and they've 'Hollywood-ised' it," he added.

"It's all sorts of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll stuff."

The Royals was the Indian team that the bowler played for between 2008 and 2011, where he lead the team to victory in the Indian Premier League in the first season of the competition.

Warnie continued to the Herald Sun: "It's quite funny, like ex-baseballers who were on the scrap heap that I decided to pick up. It's not a completely true story but based on what happened and they're putting their Hollywood spin on it."

He's also been meeting with some of the biggest streaming networks to chalk up a potential documentary deal.

The former cricketer says it would be simply titled Shane and he's already met with Netflix and Amazon Prime about the project. That would obviously be separate to the incredible sounding biopic.

We'll have to wait and see if it gets the green light from a studio and then all eyes will be on who will be cast as the incredible Shane Warne.
