Rapper T-Pain has just discovered that Instagram has a message requests folder and has been accidentally ignoring a bunch of his celebrity pals for years. Watch him figure it out here:

Yep, T-Pain, whose real name is Faheem Rasheed Najm, posted on TikTok to offer an apology to everyone whose messages he'd received but unintentionally left unread for years. Whoops.

Posting a video of his packed inbox, T-Pain added the caption: "I swear! I'm just now seeing all these messages and mentions TODAY! How do I super apologise? Press conference? Town hall meeting? I'm dumb."

In the clip, T-Pain explained: "I was today years old when I found out about the request folder on Instagram that's full of celebs trying to reach me.

"I've been accidentally straight up ignoring all these people for like two years.

"I thought DMs are supposed to just show up in the normal folder and you don't have to go digging for all these.

"I apologise to everybody on this list and hundreds of others I couldn't fit in the video.

"These are just the ones I haven't checked and replied to.

"Yup... I'm stupid."

Well, every day is a school day, T.

Among those T-Pain has completely blanked for years on end are Viola Davis, Diplo, Fergie and the official Nickelodeon account. Quite an impressive list, I'm sure you'll agree.

His comments section was quickly flooded with people spotting their own messages, now happy to finally get a response - of sorts - regarding their unanswered DM.

One said: "Damn I was wondering why you ain't never hit me back. Now it all makes sense."

Another person wrote: "Oh damn, I'm in there."

A third added: "I'm in there somewhere."

Echoing what I'd probably be thinking by this point, one follower posted: "I don't even remember what we said."

But it seems as though he's not the only one who didn't understand how the social media platform changed, as other celebrities commented to admit they'd made a similar discovery in the past.

Singer Ashanti wrote: "OMG I literally just did the same exact thing like two days ago."

While Meghan Trainor said: "Same - WTFFFF."

Wait until they all find out that Facebook has a similar feature...
