People couldn't believe that a humble photo of an egg managed to dethrone one of the biggest celebrities on the planet from her social media record. That's right, Kylie Jenner's crown for the most amount of likes for a single post on Instagram was cracked by an egg.

But there appears to be another account that wants to set the record: Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Terry Crews.

He's got many more likes to garner.

The beefy actor has posted a photo on the social networking site of his shaved 'egg head', asking everyone to make him number one.

Mr Crews has a tough road ahead of him considering the egg photo not only topped Ms Jenner's record, but absolutely scrambled it. The previous record was set at 18 million when the celebrity posted a photo of her newborn baby cradling her thumb.

The egg now has a whopping 36 million likes.

It's sure to hold the record for decades to come.

Yep - it managed to double the now second most liked photo on the planet. For most of us, the thought of getting triple digits is enough to put a smile on our faces but these two accounts are talking eight bloody figures.

While you might think Ms Jenner would throw a full on tantrum like a kid in a ball pit after his favourite ball was taken, think again.

Proving that she's got a sense of humour the 21-year-old, shared a meme about the whole thing to her Insta page showing her smashing up an egg and attempting to let it fry in the hot Calabasas weather.

She captioned it: "Take that little egg". The short clip has had over 13 million views already, so Kylie needn't worry too much about losing her Insta-crown, she's still going viral.

She'll still get hundreds of millions of likes in any given year and probably receive tons of cash for sponsored content, but she won't have that top spot - that is unless she 'breaks the internet' with a new picture.

Who knows what or who will be the next to usurp a social media record?

Will it be the sights and sounds of goats screaming to beat Luis Fonsi's YouTube record for 'Depascito' which has 5.37 billion views? Will it be a boring group about pasta sauce that becomes the most subscribed to page on Facebook, with the record holder currently, and unironically, being Facebook with 213 million?

In this day and age of internet stardom, nothing can be ruled out.
