The Queen Gave A Very Expensive Wedding Gift To Meghan Markle

What's your ideal wedding gift? Most of us would be pretty chuffed with a decent set of pans from our in-laws, or a cheque to pay off some of the open bar damages.

Or just to not have our parents whip out embarrassing stories and photos from our awkward early teenage years. That'd be GREAT.

But the Queen has just shat all over most wedding gifts, by chucking some insanely expensive jewellery in Meghan Markle's direction.

The gifts from Her Majesty are said to bring the total value of Meghan's jewellery collection to more than £1 million ($1.3m).

The collection includes her £140,000 ($187,000) engagement ring, a £241,000 ($321,600) Cartier bracelet, and the £450,000 ($600,000) tiara she wore on her wedding day, which is technically a loan from the Queen.

So, enough cash to get housing for quite a few homeless people then. Hey, just saying.

That engagement ring is definitely her most famous bling, made, touchingly, with diamonds from Princess Diana's collection. Prince Harry also used an ethically-sourced diamond from Botswana, where he and Meghan holidayed early in their relationship.

Jesus, Harry, give the rest of us a chance.

It's also been rumoured that he gifted her with a Cartier tennis bracelet, identical to one his mother loved.

On the day of the royal wedding, she wore a Cartier bracelet that's estimated to cost £241,000, although hers was probably bespoke and therefore even more expensive.

One of her everyday pieces, and comparatively quite a cheap one, is her £865 ($1,150) stacking ring from Canadian designer Birks.

The Duchess of Sussex has also been spotted around in a set of earrings by Birks, which are inspired by Canadian winters and probably help to remind her of home.

Although she's owned some of these bits since before she met Harry, we can't imagine her Suits salary would've stretched to a half-a-million tiara. Where would you even wear that?

Meghan's mum, Doria Ragland, was everyone's favourite wedding guest, coping very well on her own in such a madly formal environment.

She's said that meeting the Queen was her favourite part of the wedding (after seeing her daughter say 'I do', obviously).

Meghan has recently been named one of the most influential women in the world by Vogue magazine, with J.K. Rowling, Amal Clooney, and Dua Lipa also making the list.

Let's just hope no one starts expecting a £12k bracelet on the big day, eh?
