Tom Hanks is an actor who is beloved by millions around the world. He's won scores of awards for portraying rich, interesting, deep characters on our screens.
So, he's decided to take a crack at the Australian accent to show us his true range.
In his monologue for Saturday Night Live, which was done from his kitchen, the Academy Award winner poked a bit of fun at something that came up after testing positive for coronavirus.

While in Australia, he and wife Rita Wilson contracted Covid-19 and had to self-isolate for two weeks.
During that time, Tom chucked up a picture on social media thanking people for their hospitality as well as show off the fact that he was eating Vegemite on toast.
Loads of people took issue with that because there was a lot of Vegemite on the bread. Like a lot, a lot. He was railed on social media for dolloping the spread on rather than having a good butter to 'Mite ratio.

As a result, he addressed that in his SNL skit.
During the speech, he said he would still do the classic trope of taking questions from the audience (a SNL favourite), despite there not being an audience.
Because Hanks has the range, he decided to become the audience and create a few characters.

One was an Aussie bloke who asked how you're supposed to spread your Vegemite. Real Tom quickly shut down the question and moved on.
But it was endearing to see Mr Hanks give the Aussie tongue a go.
Tom and his wife are back in the US after overcoming the coronavirus, but they had nothing but nice things to say about Australia while there were there.
He wrote on Facebook: "We're home now and, like the rest of America, we carry on with sheltering in place and social distancing. Many, many thanks to everyone in Australia who looked after us.
"Their care and guidance made possible our return to the USA. And many thanks to all of you who reached out with well wishes."

The couple got tested after Rita started experiencing a fever as well as some 'chills that came and went'.
They had to isolate for two weeks, which reportedly put the Elvis Presley biopic he was starring in on hold for the foreseeable future.
We're just glad to see he's still got a bit of humour in him and can laugh at the little Vegemite scandal.
