After spending six years as Spider-Man it seems Tom Holland may not stick with the role for very much longer.

As far as anyone is aware, No Way Home is the final film on his Spider-Man contract and then he could possibly be done.

Speaking in an interview with GQ, he said: "Maybe it is time for me to move on. Maybe what's best for Spider-Man is that they do a Miles Morales film."

Miles Morales picks up the mantel of Spider-Man from Peter Parker in the Marvel comics, and was the lead character in 2018 animated film Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.

Holland continued: "I have to take Peter Parker into account as well, because he is an important part of my life...[but] If I'm playing Spider-Man after I'm 30, I've done something wrong.

"Since I got cast as Spider-Man, I haven't really taken a break.

"I find myself ringing my dad [Dominic, a comedian and author] for stuff that I should definitely know how to do: 'Dad, how do I put the washing machine on?'"

After the final few shots are done, some additional dialogue is recorded and the global tour completed, Holland won't really have anything more to do for the film.

Speaking about that, he admitted: "It's very strange. The last six years of my life, I always had a job to go to. It's kind of terrifying, but it's also really exciting."

He'd be sticking around if it was anything to do with Spider-Man producer and former Sony chairperson Amy Pascal, though as she told the publication: "He's the hardest-working person that I know."

She added: "There are very few actors working now who are versatile in the way that he is."

When it comes to the films she said she's spoken to Holland about doing 'like, 100 more', saying: "I'm never going to make Spider-Man movies without him. Are you kidding me?"

But what's next for the actor? Well, his co-star Jacob Battalion has revealed that he 'talks about being James Bond a lot', and not just a lot but 'a lot, a lot'.

On top of potentially filling in from where Daniel Craig left off, Holland has been writing a script with his brother, Harry Holland, and is getting ready to start filming The Crowded Room for Apple TV+.
