Uri Geller has called a truce with Nintendo and said Pokémon can reintroduce Kadabra.

For those unaware, Geller has been embroiled in a two-decade-long legal dispute over the design of the character, which he claims is based upon him.

Kadabra is drawn holding a spoon, while Geller is of course well-known for his spoon bending magic.

In Japan the character's name is written as Yungerer, Yungeller and Yun Geller - which Geller says is a reference to his name.

Speaking in 2000 when he filed a suit against Nintendo, Geller said: "Nintendo turned me into an evil, occult Pokémon character. Nintendo stole my identity by using my name and my signature image."

As a result, Kadabra has not appeared in card game since 2003.

However, it seems as though Geller has had a change of heart, posting on Twitter he said: "I am truly sorry for what I did 20 years ago.

"Kids and grownups, I am releasing the ban.

"It's now all up to #Nintendo to bring my #kadabra#pokemon card back. It will probably be one of the rarest cards now!

"Much energy and love to all!"

In an email to TheGamer, Geller explained why he's changed his mind, writing: "Due to the tremendous volume of emails I am still getting begging me to allow Nintendo to bring back Kadabra/Yungeller, I sent a letter to the chairman of Nintendo giving them permission to relaunch the Uri Geller Kadabra/Yungeller worldwide."

Geller said his letter had been picked up by 'two Nintendo representatives' but didn't give an update on what that meant for the future of the character.

Nintendo are yet to comment and it's not known if the company will bring back the character.

Pokémon fans have praised Geller for calling time on the ban, with one person writing: "Thank you for rectifying! Kadabra is one of my favorite Pokémon, I'm happy it will be back."

Another posted: "THANK YOU for releasing Kadabra back to us! I'm so excited for new cards in the future!"

A third wrote: "I did not expect to see this at all today, and I am happy about it."

While Kadabra is no longer included, other evolutions including Abra and Alakazam, have still appeared on cards.

LADbible has contacted Nintendo for comment.
