50 Cent Confirms 'Power' Spinoff Will Be A Prequel

The majority of people that tuned in simply loved Power and its success meant that it became the gift that kept on giving.

So, although 50 Cent may seem like he just trolls Floyd Mayweather all day, it looks like he's actually been pretty busy.

Not only has he been swamped filming the sixth season of Power but he's also just announced that he has a Power spinoff on the way and it will be a prequel influenced by the late 1980s.

In the Instagram post, which has been liked by over 250,000 people, 50 is sat on a police car dressed in an all black outfit.

And fans of the show are pretty excited by this entire thing. One said: "Ok now this sound dope!"

Another added: "When everyone doubts you you always come through with some new shit."

And a third said: "I've been said this would be a dope move for years now, just confirms that I'm a great thinker/businessman like my man Fif! Let's go King".

There are no further details about this rumoured prequel but if the original is anything to go by we're sure there will be many happy faces - mainly with the production company - considering that Fif signed a $150 million four year deal with Starz in October.

Power made its debut on Starz back in June 2014 and revolves around a drug dealer turned businessman who tries to keep different aspects of his life separate from one another.

50 Cent appeared in each and every season of the crime drama, playing a character called Kanan but he was killed by police during a shoot-out in Season 5.

But with this prequel going back to the 80s, could Kanan be making an epic return?

The show creator, Courtney Kemp, previously explained that there will be more than one spinoff when she took to Instagram saying: "spinoffs coming atcha... and other series I'm really excited to bring to you.... And no I'm not telling you who survives Season 6!"
