A Stranger Things Version Of Monopoly Has Arrived

There are many ways to gauge how well a TV series or film has been received; reviews, revenue and Rotten Tomatoes ratings are all good indicators.

However, there is no clearer sign that a film or series has become a household name than when it is transposed to a Monopoly board.

Creators, Hasbro, has given the game a makeover, transporting players to Hawkins to feed their hunger for all things Stranger Things. The usual houses and hotels are replaced with hideouts and forts (which glow in the dark), while Chance cards have been swapped out for Blinking Light cards.

A description of the game reads: "In this Monopoly game inspired by the Netflix Original Series, Stranger Things, Will Byers has gone missing.

"Players choose an 80s-inspired token or one 'ripped from the Upside Down' to move around the board trying to find him. Search the town, travel through the locations of Hawkins, and avoid getting trapped in the upside down. Time is running out - and the Monster is out there, somewhere, looking for you...

"The game includes Walkie-Talkie and Blinking Lights cards, replacing Community Chest and Chance cards, while Forts and Hideouts replace houses and hotels.

The game can be played by two to four players (though they should all be 14 or above, apparently) and includes the game board, eight tokens, 28 Title Deed cards, 16 Walkie-Talkie cards, 16 Blinking Lights cards, 32 forts, 12 hideouts, two dice, a money pack and the all-important game guide.

You can buy it now on Amazon in the UK for £18.99 ($23.85) - down from its £29.99 ($37.67) RRP - and it comes with free delivery within the UK.

Alternatively, if your main concern when it comes to Monopoly is that the game is played fairly, then you might be interested in a new version of the game that comes with a voice controlled banker.

In Monopoly Voice Banking, an electronic black top hat in the middle of the board manages your money, handles real estate transactions, pays rent, draws Chance cards and more, all through the power of voice commands.

This means there's no way for players to subtly cheat; in fact, the game is totally cashless - so dad has no chance of grabbing your dough while you go to the toilet.
