A TV show of the cult 90s film Tremors is in the works and Kevin Bacon is going to be in it. Amazing news.
Syfy announced it's ordered a pilot for a series based on the movie, and that Bacon will be reprising his role of Valentine McKee, as well as being an executive producer.
Andrew Miller will be writing the pilot, as well as being one of the show's executive producers.

If you haven't seen the original movie, then you need to have a word with yourself. The plot centres on McKee and Earl Basset, who work as handymen at an ex-mining settlement in the desert, who have to battle with some fucking massive burrowing worm-type monsters called Graboids who are trying to eat local residents.

In a statement, Bacon said: "This is the only character I've played that I've ever thought about revisiting. I just got to thinking, where would this guy end up after 25 years?"

"Andrew Miller has a fantastic take on it and we hope to create a show that will be fun and scary for fans of the movie and folks that have yet to discover it. Let's kick some Graboid ass.
"The thing is, to me what's interesting about that guy is that he was doing nothing, working as a handyman.

"And then because of this extraordinary circumstance, he gets to become a hero.
"So, what happens after you've become an accidental hero? Twenty-five years later. And that's the thing we want to explore in this series."

If that isn't enough to get you excited, then let me tell you that Jason Blum, the guy behind Blumhouse Productions who's responsible for horror flicks such as The Purge, Sinister and Insidious, is also involved.
