There's a new dating show in town to top them all and, if you're an animal lover and single, it could well be one to consider signing up to.

October films are casting for Puppy Playdate, a dating show with a canine-themed twist. Eligible singles will put their dating destiny in the paws of their pooches.

I'm guessing that the dogs have to choose someone for their owner, or potential couples get picked depending on the breed of their dogs. Who knows, but it sounds a laugh.

To star on the new dating show, all you need to do is be single as a pringle, be based in London or the surrounding areas, and have a dog. Simple.

All breeds, personalities and backgrounds are welcome, according to the casting agency.

If you want to take part in the series, you need to send a photo of you as well as your pooch, your partner preference and your contact details to the casting team at [email protected].

According to a tweet sent out by the agency, the opportunity is also paid, meaning there's all the more reason for you to apply.

You'll be able to splash out on a few well-deserved luxuries for you and your pet.

While it's pretty unusual to take a dog on a date, driving with a four-legged friend is acceptable as long as it's done safely - something one reality star has learnt this week.

Geordie Shore star, Gary 'Gaz' Beadle, filmed himself driving with his dog around his shoulders, which could have ended very badly if he were to get into an accident. Take a look at the footage.

One of the snapshots shows Gaz on a two-lane road, driving next to another car while his pooch rests in a precarious position.

Drivers who are caught using their phone while driving could get six points taken off their licence and a £200 ($271) fine.

Gocompare car insurance spokesman Matt Oliver has told the Mirror: "Driving with your pet is sometimes a necessity, whether it's a short trip to the vet or a longer trip for a weekend away - but making sure they are properly controlled is essential for the safety of everyone in the car.

"The law is clear - you must secure your animal while in a car - therefore if you don't do this and an animal roaming freely around the vehicle is said to have contributed to causing an accident, then an insurance company could be well within their rights not to pay out on a claim."

According to the Express, police can also slap a £100 ($135) fine on a driver for being 'distracted' along with three penalty points. That can jump to a whopping £5,000 ($6,789) and nine penalty points, if the case goes to court.
