Anne Hegerty has donned a Union Jack dress and wig for The Chase's Christmas special to channel her inner Ginger Spice, recreating the singer's famous look from the 1997 BRIT Awards.

Yup, she may be rocking the khaki over in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, but before she went Down Under to down glasses of fish eyes, Hegerty was busy filming the forthcoming festive special of The Chase - on which she regularly features as her strict, suited alter-ego, The Governess.

The sneak preview of the episode was released as part of an advert for ITV's Christmas TV programming, and if Anne Hegerty's glamorous new look is anything to go by, we're in for a good time.

Mind you, Bradley Walsh wasn't quite so impressed, telling her in the clip: "Never mind Ginger Spice, you look like a ginger nut."

Thankfully, Hegerty didn't seem too arsed by his comments, laughing off the insult - probably because she knows that her colleague, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, looks decidedly more ridiculous in the special, having dressed up as Elvis in a bejewelled white jumpsuit, wig and sunglasses.

What's more, Hegerty, 60, is currently in the country's good books, having been winning over the nation with her current stint on I'm A Celeb.

She's been praised by viewers across the board for opening up about being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome - a form of austism that can affect how people perceive the world and interact with others - in 2003 at the age of 45.

"I didn't raise the autism issue. It's not like, 'I want you to know I have this interesting disability that you have to accommodate'," Hegerty told fellow I'm A Celebrity contestant, actress Rita Simons.

"If someone else raises it then I make it quite clear that I'm happy to talk about it."

After saying in a pre-I'm A Celeb interview that she's had to learn about what she 'can and can't cope with', in another episode she also told her fellow campmates she'd been struggling with her time on the show.

"I'm just really, really close to saying I can't do this," she said.

But Hegerty didn't pack it in, and is still going strong - much to the delight of her fans.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! returns tonight at 9pm.
